Sneakers are often used as a status symbol and bought because of the easily recognizable brand. Our appearance becomes an empty shell with an obvious, small, and dominant value point. A dress shoe derives its value from
different sources. My collaboration proposal with Floris van Bommel was a perfect way to challenge the consumer and give them the space to create their own opinion. This pre-distressed dress shoe contains aspects of logo-mania and is worn down like a sneaker. It rubs with conservative and modern values of the shoe industry, such as logos and ambiance, but does not try to push the consumer in any direction. The shoe questions the concept of logo-mania that has manifested itself all over the world.
